Mozilla or Thunderbird
FreePOPs is a stand-between program. It acts as the liaison between your email client and your free webmail service provider (like Yahoo!, HotMail, GMail). This document will help you setup your Mozilla or Thunderbird client for use with FreePOPs.
Prerequisites:
- Latest version of FreePOPs downloaded and installed
- Mozilla or Mozilla Thunderbird installed
- Internet Connection :)
- Open Mozilla or Mozilla Thunderbird.
- In Mozilla Thunderbird, go to Tools
-> Account Settings or in
Mozilla, go to Edit -> Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...

Mozilla Thunderbird Mozilla
- Now you will see a window like the
one below. Click on the Add Account
button in this window.

- Your Mozilla (from now
on we will use Mozilla rather then both software names) will start
an Account Wizard now (if you start Mozilla for the first time then the
same wizard will appear. So if you have started Mozilla for the first
time follow from this step). You can see a window like the one below
.

Select Email account and click Next.
- A window asking your Identity like
the one below will appear.

Put your name in the Your Name field and your email address in the Email Address Field. Click Next.
- A window asking your Server
Information like the one below will appear.

You have to select POP3 as your incoming server. As you know FreePOPs works for bringing your webmail to your Inbox, so your email software has to use some protocol to bring the mail in using FreePOPs.
Put localhost in the Incoming Server field. Click Next.
- Another window like the one below,
asking your User Names will appear

Notice carefully. You have to put your whole email address here with the part after @ sign. Because FreePOPs will understand which service you are trying to access with the part after the @ sign. So if you are a GMail user, then you have to put yourloginname@gmail.com or if you are using Yahoo! then you have to type yourloginname@yahoo.com. Click Next.
- A window like the one below will
appear, asking you for an account name.

Put an account name of your choice in the Account Name field. Click Next.
- In the mean time a window may
appear asking you for SMTP server details. FreePOPs doesn't have
any SMTP facility, so you have to use your ISP's SMTP server. If a
window appears asking for your SMTP server name, then put your ISP's SMTP
server name in that field.
Finally a window like the one below will appear showing all the information about your account.

Click Finish and you are quite finished.
<>Now go to your Account Settings window and select
the Server Settings panel
from your account as below.

You can see a Port field. Put 2000 there and click OK.
